Third-Party Inventions

You may choose to bring a third-party invention into the race, instead of or in addition to one of the featured inventions. Please keep in mind the rules and additional criteria below when choosing your invention.

Indicate on your Application Form that you want to "Bring in your own "third-party" invention" by selecting "I have my own "third-party" invention."

FAQ for Third-Party Inventions (exceptions will be made if appropriate):
  • Scope of the Challenge: Third-party inventions must address brain tumors or brain tumor-related side effects
  • Licensing: The third-party invention must be available to your team for licensing, or you must own it already
  • Patent Protection: For any therapeutic, vaccine, diagnostic, or device, a provisional patent must have been filed
  • ​Stage: ​Third-party inventions must have at least a valid proof-of-concept/prototype or be in a pre-IND stage
